Tiger Stadium is an overgrown lot. Thanks to the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation, the City hastened to demolish all that remained of the historic structure last year, despite efforts by a conservancy that had earmarked funds for renovation. At this time, the City has no plan for the site... their mantra being "economic development."

So, about fifteen of us took matters into our own hands, excavating in spite of the City's inaction a history lost to potato chip wrappers, empty vodka bottles and weeds. Our purpose was not only to restore pride to the old ball field, but propose by our own self-determination a novel use for the derelict site, permanent or temporary... baseball.
